This week we are learning about Attribution Theory and, in particular, Causal Attributions.

The challenge is to think of Causal Attributions as a way of "construing" the behaviour of others - or, to put it another way, viewing Causal Attributions as similar to an Instagram Filter that we can put on any given situation or behaviour. Imagine if one of the filter options from Instagram would take the picture you were about to post and convert it to a picture demonstrating the CAUSE of whatever was depicted in the original picture!

To participate, all you need to do is post a photo to Instagram in which you show 2-3 photos.

Photo 1: This should be a photo of the behaviour/situation that you are observing and that you would like to explain.

Photos 2 & 3: These photos should represent the Causal Attribution "Filter" that you're applying to Photo 1.

For bonus points, one should attribute the causes to dispositional/internal factors, and one should attribute the causes to situational/external factors.

When you're done, post your photos with the hashtag #XPsyc240CAFilter -- If you don't know how to post more than one picture at a time, you can label them as Photo 1, Photo 2, Photo 3.
